C.H.I.P.P. poster

WALT: when we went to the Zoo on our class camp we learnt their acronym C.H.I.P.P.
C.H.I.P.P stands for climate change, habitat loss, introduced pests, poaching and pollution.
This is a little poster about it that I would like to share with you.
What I found challenging was finding the best pictures to mach my descriptions and next time I am going to get my photos the correct size.

Te Kauru Camp 2018 - ( writing second draft)

Rainbows End
The Invader

WHOOSH! I am hanging on for dear life as I go up and down and around on the gut twisting invader! The whole of group six are riding together and we are screaming at the top of our lungs! I see some people including my mum snapping pictures but very rarely because we were rotating at tremendous speeds. The looks on our faces are horrendous and some of us have turned chalk white! I am feeling light and dizzy because of all the different motions! There is the faint smell of hot oil on the blue tracks because we have just came to sudden stop. All my friends including I shout at the top of our lungs “LETS GO AGAIN!¨

Holding on for dear life!

Trying not to scream.

Feeling the air frying through my hair.

Science roadshow

This year I went to the science roadshow Which is a big tractor unit that is filled with experiments and shows. I really enjoyed the fire and ice show, because there are lots of experiments that contain fire. I would like to learn more about how liquid nitrogen is made because nitrogen is a type of gas. My favourite exhibit was probably the spinning chair.

screencast about code.org

how to be a good leader.

To be a good leader you have to...                                                                                                       Have the determination the will to succeed
And also...
-Be a good team builder, leader and member
To be a good leader you need to be determined to succeed no matter what.
E.g. You are playing a game of soccer and your team is losing you don't just go “I give up”, you go “I will keep on trying and give it my all” and then the game may go the other way. You also need to be a good team builder, leader and member so that is not just one group of that thing. When you are building your team it should be diverse, it should also have a mix of skills and talents
so then it is fair. Also be a superb leader E.g.
-Being fair to the team.
-Showing sportsmanship.
-Not letting the team down.

You also have to have to be a good team member so then everyone gets a go and your team ends up having a great game.

Hello my name is Dominic and I am 10 years old. I live in the far north of new Zealand, at a place called Henderson bay which is north of Kaitaia. The name of my school is Paparore which is by lake Ngatu. I live in a family of four that is including me to! One of my favourite hobbies is motocross and another is watching ken block drifting on YouTube! I like all of my subjects but my favourite one is probably p.e.! I'm also pretty good at the other ones to. I have got onto the basic facts whizz kids list which is where you get 100 basic fact questions right three times in a row with a time of 6:30 or less. One of my favourite times of the day is just after lunch because everybody does something called S.S.R. (super silent reading). This year I am looking forward to going to end of year camp even though I don't know where it is. One of my personal achievements is making a electrical circuit with A breadboard in S.T.E.A.M.! S.T.E.A.M. stands for science, technology, engineering,Art and maths. That's it for now, hope you liked my first blog post, bye for now,
Dominic.
